EA Games have announced a new title in the Burnout series, Burnout CRASH!. The game features a new, unexpected design for the series.

Developers Criterion have developed the game in a top-down style, similar to the classic Grand Theft Auto games. The title relies heavily on the mindless fun of bashing cars together to make the biggest explosion as humanly possible in a desperate struggle to make the highest insurance claim.

“Burnout Crash is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows,” said Richard Franke, Creative Director, in a press release. “We’ve evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform.”

Kinect owners will get an extra mode that allows two teams to use “gestural controls to crash and burn in a party battle.” The game has been slated with a “Fall 2011” release date for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
