2012 has been a big year for Nintendo, launching not only the all-new 3DS XL but also a brand new home video game console, the Nintendo Wii U.

As we all celebrate the world not ending, Nintendo Australia this evening have released a list of titles Aussie gamers should expect to see in the first half of 2013 – a year that is sure not to disappoint.

First up, Wii U owners should expect a to see a nice collection of games released between now and March next year. First up will be SiNG PARTY on January 19 that will include a bundled in microphone, followed by NBA2K 13, Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth and Rayman Legends in February.

March will undoubtedly be huge with F1 Race Stars, The Croods: Prehistoric Party, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Aliens:Colonial Marines expected to reach Australian shores. We’re also hopeful that high-profile title LEGO City: Uncover will make its targeted ‘launch window’ (which ends March 31 2013) release date. Sadly however, Pikmin 3 still holds a Q2 (2nd Quarter) 2013 release window.

And that’s just what we know about at time of writing! No doubt we may see new announcements drop as we go head-first into 2013 itself.

On the digital side, Wii U’s own Nintendo eShop will see its share of modest new releases. Zen Pinball 2, BIT.TRIP Presents… Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, Mutant Mudds Deluxe and The Cave all have a target release date for Q1 2013. There seems to be no local release date for International releases Hyper Switch Force: Hyperdrive Edition or Trine 2 as yet, so stay it locked to Aussie-Gamer as we’re following up on those.

As we reported some time ago, Two Tribes puzzle/platformer Toki Tori 2 was originally was due for release December 20 and now has been pushed back to an unspecified 2013 release date.

For Nintendo 3DS owners, a slew of new retail and digital titles will be released at a steady pace in the first few months of 2013. Starting next week, the 3DS Nintendo eShop will see Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels and Nano Assault EX released, with titles such as Fractured Soul and Tokyo Crash Mobs and PICROSS e2 out January. Most excitingly however,is acclaimed NES classic Ghosts’n Goblins will be hitting the Virtual Console January 3.

Other 3DS eShop titles scheduled for a Q1 2013 release are; NightSky, ATV Wild Ride 3D, Harvest Moon (GameBoy Colour), Legend of the River King, Pinball: Revenge of the Gator, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos and Mega Man 2.

Retail releases, starting February 15 include; Super Black Bass, Viking Invasion 2 – Tower Defense (March 8), Imagine Champion Rider 3D, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Dr Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training: Can you stay focused? (March 9), Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt 2. Then, The Hidden, Pet Zombies, Face Racers, Nano Assault, Hello Kitty Picnic with Sanrio Friends and Monster High: Skultimate Roller Maze out March 13.

March 15 sees Mystery Murders: Jack the Ripper, Funfair Party Games and Midnight Mysteries: The Devil on the Mississippi. Rounding out the month, which is looking huge with to both Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate all holding a target release date for March, is The Croods: Prehistoric Party.

Looking beyond there, 3DS owners can expect ATV Fever sometime in the Q1, with the long-awaited Fire Emblem: Awakening in April and the new Animal Crossing coming in Q2.

So, Nintendo fans. A lot to digest but what are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below!
