Nintendo have penned in a press conference to talk all things Wii U in mid-September, according to tabloid blog Kotaku.

The website is speculating that the console manufacturer will reveal at this conference the release date and price of the new hardware, at least for the North American region.

While the website didn’t post an image or screenshot of the invitation, it claims the event will be held by Nintendo of American President Reggie Fils-Aime and will teach participants “more about how the Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment”.

Nintendo have spent the last few months touring North America with Wii U, showing off the console to as many Club Nintendo members as possible. The console is expected to be released before December, which makes September a likely month for release date information.

It’s important to point out, however, that Kotaku are as yet the only member of the “gaming press” who has mentioned they’ve been invited, though given the nature of the ego-net, more are likely to come forward.
