Atlus today announced the release date for upcoming role-playing game Persona 4 Arena for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The game is a sequel to Persona 4 and will hit stores in New Zealand and Australia on May 2, 2013.

Those who pre-order the game will recieve a special bonus pack, including the Official Arranged Soundtrack featuring exclusive artwork and a Digital Fan Pack. These are strictly limited to pre-ordering customers and will not be made available past day-one sales.

Persona 4 Arena follows on the story from Persona 4 Golden. The developers promise the game is not a spin-off, and that it will feature over 30 hours of story content. The game is a collaboration between Arc System Works and Atlus.

Persona 4 Arena features:

• 13 playable characters, each with their own individual story campaign
• A story mode comparable to the JRPG series with over 30+ hours of story gameplay – which continues the events from where the PS Vita Best seller, Persona 4 Golden, left off
• Innovative fighting system, where players battle with both their chosen character and their Persona simultaneously
• Exceptional suite of tutorials and challenges, as well as an innovative and easy to use combo system – making Persona 4 Arena one of the most approachable fighters of this generation

Persona 4 Arena hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Australia and New Zealand on May 2, 2013.
