Prepare to get Seaman on your Nintendo 3DS

When SEGA released it’s Dreamcast console, it released a curiously horrific game called Seaman which was, in essence, a talking man-fish version of Nintendogs.

Seaman was a fish with a human face who would swim around a virtual aquarium, getting annoyed at you. According to Japanese newspaper Nikkei, Nintendo are looking to revive the abomination for Nintendo 3DS.

The newspaper ran a feature about Nintendo’s plans to bring back classic game franchises on Nintendo 3DS and used Seaman as an example, but did not go into specifics. Interestinly, Yoot Saito who came up with the original game said last year that Seaman could someday appear on Nintendo 3DS. Saito is currently working on a game at Level-5.

The paper also talks about Nintendo’s new Research and Development complex being built around the corner of the Nintendo HQ. Apparently, the building that once stood on the now flattened surface housed an Italian restaurant that President Satoru Iwata and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto would eat regularly.

What else would they eat? Before buying the building and demolishing the site, the pair finalised details of the Nintendo DS at that restaurant.
