Nintendo’s newest handheld gaming console, the Nintendo 3DS, is turning out to be a celebration of not only the newest, cutting edge games but also of timeless classic retro titles via the Virtual Console.
SEGA’s failed GameGear will be getting the Virtual Console treatment and will be appearing on the eShop in the coming months. Three titles were mentioned and include Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble, Dragon Crystal and Shinobi.
Nintendo announced that GameGear titles will appear on the Nintendo 3DS last year before the console was released in the West. Since then, there has been no indication of when or what games would be appearing, until the ESRB – the US’ video game classification authority – rated the above mentioned games for both GameGear and Nintendo 3DS.
Nintendo will be announcing some information regarding the Nintendo 3DS tonight and we expect that pricing for GameGear titles will be on the agenda. You can find out how to watch the stream live by heading to this page.
