Sony have boasted a healthy 3D lineup for 2011 on the Official PlayStation Blog this week for what it’s calling the “Year of 3D on PlayStation 3”.

Perhaps a subtle attempt to take a little limelight off the Nintendo 3DS launch this week, Sony posted almost 30 different titles that will be available throughout the year. Crysis 2, Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception, Mortal Kombat and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One are getting the 3D treatment.

But Sony were quick to point out the other 3D content it will supply for the PS3 apart from just video games. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 3D tops the list, following Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, Tron Legacy and other 3D BluRay titles. Sony pointed out that in one week, 83,000 users downloaded the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 3D Preview.

In what was more evidence that PlayStation 3D is perhaps more popular than first assumed, Sony confirmed that 20% of all Killzone 3 demo downloads were 3D.

You can check out the full list of 3D content by heading here. To enable 3D PlayStation 3 games, you will need a 3D capable TV, a pair of 3D glasses and a high speed HDMI v1.4 cable.
